St Louis, Missouri, November 7, 2015 – Alpine Security is sponsoring an Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Workshop at the 10th Annual API (American Petroleum Institute) Cybersecurity Conference and Expo. This workshop is a four hour immersive hands-on event that focuses on security testing of Industrial Control Systems, also known as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
The workshop will provide participants with a methodical approach to address the unique challenges associated with ICS security testing. This methodology minimizes the increased risks associated with assessing critical infrastructure. In addition, Alpine Security will cover ICS device discovery techniques using tools such as Nmap and the NSE (Nmap Scripting Engine). Vulnerabilty Scanning will be covered as well with an emphasis on Tenable Nessus and the Nessus SCADA Plugins. The workshop also immerses attendees in the exploitation of vulnerable ICS systems and protocols using tools and methods such as Metasploit, Armitage, John the Ripper, Ettercap, Wireshark, hex editors, packet injection, etc.
