Alpine Security announced that it has become a CIS SecureSuite Service member. Through this membership, Alpine Security is further bolstering its client's cybersecurity defenses by leveraging CIS SecureSuite resources. Christian Espinosa presented at the 2016 AFCEA Mid-America Cyberspace Symposium on the Top 20 Critical Security Controls. Christian spoke about applying a risk-based approach to cybersecurity. A risk-based approach quantifies security controls, in contrast to blindly implementing "solutions" that minimally reduce risk.
Christian Espinosa spoke at St Louis's Washington University Security Round Table on "Decoding the Hack". Christian's presentation broke down attacks from the hacker perspective for three attack categories: physical access attacks, client-side attacks, and server-side attacks. The presentation included use of HID devices, keyloggers, social engineering, MITM, and Injection attacks.
